Florida Animation Festival honors Iran’s ‘The Rotation’

The Florida Animation Festival in the US honors Iranian short ‘The Rotation’.

The Florida Animation Festival in the US has honored Iranian short flick ‘The Rotation’.

Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation received an Honorable Mention at the “Audience Favorites – We Need to Talk” category of the US event.

‘The Rotation’ shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.

None of the sides can defeat the other and their conflict wreaks havoc on the Earth’s climate.

An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.

It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.

Currently competing at the River Film Festival in Italy, ‘The Rotation’ went on screen at a number of global events, including the Suncine International Festival of Environmental Cinema in Spain, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in the US, the MikroFAF International festival of DIY and independent short films in Serbia, the International Youth Film Festival "Light of the World” in Russia, the Providence Children’s Film Festival in the US, the VGIK International Student Festival in Russia, and the Arpa International Film Festival in the US, where it won the Best Animated Film award.

The Florida Animation Festival is a multi-day film festival launched in 2016 to showcase amazing animated films and spotlight both regional and global animation talent.

The 2021 edition of the event was held on June 10-27.
